This is something I personally still struggle with from time to time, the passion I put into each and every man inside the programme, the time I put into work. In fact the last week I’ve been feeling pretty tired

Now I’m not perfect. In fact no man or human being is perfect this is why I slip up on a few occasions and push a little too hard.

I know this is common within men who want to achieve great things within their health and performance and business, they go all in because they want the absolute best out of everything they do.

Now, it’s not completely avoidable. We’re going get tired, we’re going to go too far from time to time. We’ve been flat out all week and our way if unwinding is hitting it hard on the weekend.

Or you’ve got a young child who’s keeping you up all night after working hard all day.

And day after day this cumulative lack of sleep can leave us exhausted.

I know this is common within men who want to achieve great things within their health and performance and business, they go all in because they want the absolute best out of everything they do.

I believe this is a blessing but can also be a curse. The #1 kryptonite to the high performing man… Burnout.

It’s insidious and creeps up on you. And now a recognisable medical disorder because it can be that debilitating.

A lot of the time because we opt to keep pushing when our body is screaming to rest.

6 Burnout Triggers

  1. Lack of Control

    Your sense of control over what you do is undermined or limited and you don’t have a lot of say in what’s going on.

  2. Values Conflict

    There is a disconnect between your own core values and the core values of the organization or workplace.

  3. Insufficient Reward

    You feel taken for granted, not recognized, and/or undercompensated.

  4. Work Overload

    Your workload is too much, too complex, or too urgent.

  5. Unfairness

    You or others are treated unfairly, there is a culture of favouritism, and assignments and promotions are made in an arbitrary fashion and discussed behind closed doors.

  6. Community Breakdown

    You have to work with patronizing colleagues, there is no mechanism for conflict resolution, and feedback is non-existent.

It can be counteracted and yeah we will find ourselves in the spiral sometimes.. that’s okay. If we can double down on and schedule in some active recovery time each day and across the month.

We can recover faster and avoid burnout altogether.
