3 Things I hear a lot of men struggling with and one way to combat them.

A lot of men I speak to lack direction, clarity and motivation to eat, train and live the way they want to..

Take Jack, a client of mine who was training once per week. But not seeing the result he wanted and was struggling to get himself in the gym more than once per week.

So, we sat down and set a lofty goal for him. Giving him the clarity and direction he needed.

He’s signed up for the Great North Run on the 10th September this year..

Now he’s been out for more runs in the last few weeks than Tom Hanks in Forrest Gump (maybe not, but close).

Here’s how:

  1. Create a minimally viable north star - something that gives you direction.


    For example, one of mine is to improve the mental health of men in society.

  2. This can be difficult and we often feel the need to have it bang on straight away. Just go with your gut and you can adapt along the way.


    Think of any topic that makes you curious…

  3. Once you’ve got this then create some High Hard Goals - essentially a 1-3 year goal that takes some considerable consistency and hard work.

  4. Break this High Hard Goal (HHG) into smaller chunks - Yearly, quarterly, monthly, weekly, daily and clear goals..

  5. Make this clear goals a step by step process so you don’t have to think about what to do.

    You just do it. Reducing the amount of cognitive load you experience so you feel more motivated and energised.
